Spin Cycle in Gainesville is hosting another alley cat on May 30th. The Easter Cat was super fun, now get ready for The Postman's Calling! (Think Kevin Costner as "The Postman")
Details:
Delivery Style alley cat where you will be given envelopes with addresses. Find the "from" address and get a stamp, then deliver it to the "to" address. Costume contest for best Post-Apocalyptic Mail Carrier costume. After Party at Spin Cycle with bands, a dj, and a keg. Sponsored by multiple bike shops in town as well as many local restaurants and businesses. T-shirts for the event will be for sale as well.

Race starts at Spin Cycle. 424 W. University Ave. Gainesville FL 32601.
Registration at 3:00pm
Race at 4:00pm
Entry fee is $5.00 plus a non perishable food item. All the food will be donated to the local food bank here in Gainesville. Thanks!

Easter-Cat!! Easter Egg Hunt/Alleycat "...and on the third day he arose, and searched for easter eggs." Host:Spin Cycle Sunday, April 12, 2009 Time:1:00pm - 4:00pm Location: Spin Cycle. An alleycat where the winner is the one who finds and returns with the most eggs! $3-5 entry fee. At least a small bag will be necessary (think max ten eggs). Prizes, stunt and sprint competitions and a party to follow at the finish. Register @ 1pm at Spin Cycle (424 W. University Ave in Gainesville) Race begins at 2pm from Spin Cycle. It is hard to believe but now I have spent half of my life creating Spin Cycle. 18 very awesome years. I can only imagine the bikes I have fixed and sold and the hundreds of fellow employees that have blessed me in the long road. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped put on the alleygator race, it was a huge success. We had a great party pizza drink. Also thanks to all the sponsors there was a ton of great prizes to go around

Frostbreaker was the same day as the race so we had to pull double duty at the store. That party was epic and special thanks to Chloe for hosting all the out of towners. It was really cool to see the Frisbee and the Bike crowd mixing it up late into the night. Another big thank you to all the entertainers who performed though out the day and night.

Our Monday ride has been going strong with 15 riders last week and 8 this week.  This week we did laps on campus around Lake Alice. we have a night road bike leaving the shop on Mondays, meeting at 7pm leaving at 7:15. The store will be open late for any last minute adjustments. These will be road rides both fixed and geared bikes welcome. Lights required. Helmets encouraged. Safety first.

We have a busy couple weeks of organized rides in the area.

The AlleyGator race/ride Sat Feb 28th is going to be tons of fun. register Spin Cycle front parking lot at 3pm race at 4pm with spintin and trickin after .
